Jimmy Classic (Bass Guitar, vocals)
Jimmy started out with Unit Four Plus Two, making him a true veteran of the R&B scene. After playing in a variety of somewhat heavier bands in the 70's, Jimmy started his own band, Jimi Classic and the Sidekicks, who were regulars on the London pub scene. Jimmy has now calmed down a bit, but there was a time when no gig was complete without at least one bizarre costume change, which could be anything from a chicken to Hitler. Jimmy's no-nonsense bass style drives the band forward, particularly on the straight-ahead Fabulous Thunderbirds or Stevie Ray Vaughan-type material. Occasionally, Jimmy's son "Junior Moose" will make a guest appearance on drums, just to remind us all how old we are getting.
Martin Stevens (Vocals, Guitar)
Martin is the main vocalist in the band, with a rich bluesy voice which has been compared to Van Morrison's, although Martin is not quite as grumpy. Martin has been gigging around London for many years and started out in the late 70's pub rock scene, playing with Bill Hurley of the Inmates and other London-based R&B bands. Martin is an accomplished guitarist with a selection of fine Strats and Teles and his occasional solos provide a nice contrast to Marc's more melodic style.
Marc French (Lead Guitar)
Marc paid his dues writing songs, touring and recording around Europe before settling down in West London. While living in Hamburg, he was a member of Eric Burdon's backing band and he played many gigs, festivals, TV and radio shows in Germany, Holland and Belgium. Marc now wields a selection of axes, the favourite being a Brinsley Schwarz custom-built semi-acoustic Strat out of which he coaxes a variety of blues-based squawks and growls. Marc's guitar heroes are Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix, with Bert Weedon coming a close third.
Leslie Binks (Drums)
Leslie Binks was a drummer on the 1974 Roger Glover album Butterfly Ball And The Grasshopper's Feast, which featured such legendary names as David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, and Ronnie James Dio behind the microphone.Through the Roger Glover connection, Judas Priest auditioned and hired Les Binks in time for their 1977 world tour - their first on American soil. Les remained with Priest for two short but very productive years, recording two studio albums and one live LP that remain the most ground-shaking and defining of the heavy metal genre. Les continued to play in a classic-rock cover band around South London called The Shakers with ex-Alice Cooper/Almighty guitarist Pete Friesen and vocalist/guitarist Tom Lundy of The Poormouth. His no-nonsense hard hitting style, compliments the Mooses as they pull together many of the classic Rocking blues sound.
Dave Williams (Lead Guitar)
Wild legs Williams known for his dancing legs (NOT) and master of the Cooder slide is a legend in and around the Watford area for his rendition of "Sleep Walk" by the Shadows. Dave is an accomplished guitarist and teacher and has been playing since the sixties with big names on the R&B circuit such as Johnny Johnson, Jon (King) Cleary and The Zimmermen (Bob Dylan Tribute Band).
Mike Paice (Sax & Harp)
Mike has been a feature soloist for Dana Gillespie, Jools Holland and the late Lonnie Donegan. Mike has been playing sax and harp with many top name over the years. He brings a soleful bluesy sound with a touch of Junior Walker to the venture. As well as recording with the above, Mike has recorded for many other artists too, notably Gary Numan, The Blues Band and Bryan Ferry. He has also played with Charlie Dore, appearing on BBC2's Old Grey Whistle Test, the great New Orleans piano player Dr John and Paul Young. Mike's list also includes US Blues artists Joe Louis Walker, Hubert Sumlin, and Sherman Robertson as well as Reggae star Max Romeo and many, many more.
